We are a dimensional calibration laboratory that strives to meet our customers'
significant requirements such as, but not limited to, prompt service and quick turn-around
times. We specialize in weekend turn-around for our local customers and prompt
service for our more distant customers, and repair of major brands of measuring
tools.
Superior Gage Service started in 1963 by Virgil Morse while he was working in the
Calibration Laboratory at American Airlines. American Airlines (AA) was having
difficulty getting hand tools repaired in a cost effective and timely manner.
Virgil convinced management not to buy gages from any manufacturer who would not
allow AA's technicians to go to their facilities and learn how to repair tools.
After receiving extensive training at Federal Products, Brown & Sharp and Starrett.
Virgil setup a gage repair shop at AA to repair company owned tools. Because
AA was not interested in repairing employee owned tools at that time, Virgil started
a gage repair shop in his home to repair hand tools owned by employees of AA.
The repair shop was named Superior Gage Service.
In 1983 Superior Gage Service moved to Wagoner, Oklahoma to a larger facility and
added hand tool calibration to its list of services. As Superior Gage Service
grew, technicians were sent to factory training programs, whenever possible, to
increase services offered. Superior Gage Service became a factory authorized
service rep for several lines of optical comparators and added granite surface plate
calibration and resurfacing.
In 1990 Superior Gage Service was sold to his son, Steve Morse, who had worked for
Superior Gage Service off and on since it conception.
In 1992 Superior Gage Service moved to its present facility in Tahlequah, Oklahoma
and added more services.
In 1998 Superior Gage Service's facility doubled in size and added a state of the
art temperature control system, plus a Federal Gage Block Comparator was added.
In 1999 Superior Gage Service added a factory trained service rep for Rockwell,
Brinell, and Micro Hardness Testers.
In 2004 we were accredited by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation
(A2LA).
In 2004 we became a Brown & Sharp Factory authorized repair station and 1 of
11 authorized repair stations for Micro-Hite and Tesa-Hite gages.
We have been a member of the National Conference of Standards Laboratories (NCSL)
for more than 10 years.
